(We close at 6:00PM the second Tuesday of every month except July & Dec.)

Employment Opportunity

The Chincoteague American Legion Post 159 has two immediate openings for one (1) full-time bar tender and one (1) part-time bartender position. All interested candidates must come by the legion to pick up and turn in the application. Also, if you have previously submitted an application online, you must come by the Legion and complete one.

Under the direction of the Bar Manager, essential duties include:
- Preparing and serving alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks and mixing alcoholic drinks based from classic recipes.
- Verifying identification for active membership status and legal age requirements for all customers.
- Preparing and serving food items for customers.
- Paying out winners of both manual and electronic pull tabs.
- Keeping the bar well-stocked with adequate supplies of beer, wine, mixers, ice, napkins, straws, glassware and other accessories.
- Cleaning the bar, tables, chairs, and work area to maintain a sanitary environment.

In General

The Chincoteague American Legion Post opens daily at 11:30AM & Noon on Sunday's.  Lunch and dinner menu items are served daily from noon to 7:00PM.  After 7:00PM regular bar menu items are available.  The specials range from sandwiches to small platters.  We welcome members and their guests to come and check out our special menu items that are always reasonably priced.

Every Friday night, starting at 7:00PM, the Post hosts a Pool Tournament.  All members and their guests are encouraged to come out and play.


Post 159 Legion Riders Shotgun Raffle - tickets are $5, only 400 tickets will be sold. Drawing will be held when all tickets are sold. Click here for complete details.

Saturday, August 24th - Poker Run to benefit our Veterans. Proceeds go to Operation Comfort Warrior and Freedom Hunters.  Registration at 9:30 am at AC Cycles in Oak Hall with ride ending at Chincoteague Post 159, last bike in at 3 pm.  Food and prizes, 50/50 raffle and silent auction.

The Auxiliary asks that you encourage the American Legion Family to please donate needed supplies for the Troop Support Boxes. Lists of needed supplies have been widely distributed and a supply donation box prominently placed in the Legion hall. Once a year the Auxiliary endeavors to send our community service members a Christmas package from home to show our appreciation. This year the Auxiliary will bake 50 dozen homemade cookies to go along with the supplies. The supply items are not expensive and can be easily purchased at a local store and are truly appreciated by our service members.
