Due to Virginia ABC Regulations, beginning May 5th, 2017, no alcohol can be sold or consumed at the Post Home during some "Open Door" events (this includes some Friday Night Food) events. Please call about specific events to find out if they are "dry"
The Post 159 American Legion Family will again be taking applications for our Hometown Heros Military Banner Program. The program will be honoring Active Military as well as Veterans that served in wartime. This year marks our 100th. Anniversary for the American Legion.  The theme for this year is 100% membership for our 100th. Anniversary.  Lets get our dues paid early and make this goal.  For those who have internet access, you an pay your dues online at

American Legion Chincoteague Post 159

Friday, Mar 15th, the American Legion will be serving Steamed Shrimp and Clams from 5-7 PM. Carry out available after 6:30, supplies permitting. Entertainment by PhilRhythm to follow.
Saturday, Apr 13th, Breakfast Buffet at the Legion from 8 to 10 AM. Auxiliary Baked Goods Sale runs concurrently with the Breakfast Buffet.
Friday, Apr 19th, the American Legion will be serving Steamed Shrimp and Clams from 5-7 PM. Carry out available after 6:30, supplies permitting.
Saturday, May 11th, Breakfast Buffet at the Legion from 8 to 10 AM. Auxiliary Baked Goods Sale runs concurrently with the Breakfast Buffet.

On Saturday evenings, Pool Tournament  beginning 6PM.

On Saturday evenings, Game Night beginning 7PM.

On Sundays, Sports on the Big Screen TVs. Doors open at 11AM.
On Mondays, Line Dancing beginning 7PM.

The Chincoteague American Legion Post opens daily at 11AM. Lunch and dinner menu items served daily from noon - 7 p.m. After 7 p.m. regular menu items available. The specials range from sandwiches to small platters. We welcome members and their guests to come check out our special menu items reasonably priced.

The Auxiliary asks that you encourage the American Legion Family to please donate needed supplies for the Troop Support Boxes. Lists of needed supplies have been widely distributed and a supply donation box prominently placed in the Legion hall. Once a year the Auxiliary endeavors to send our community service members a Christmas package from home to show our appreciation. This year the Auxiliary will bake 50 dozen homemade cookies to go along with the supplies. The supply items are not expensive and can be easily purchased at a local store and are truly appreciated by our service members.
